  • Purpose

    The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program plays an important role in the implementation of the US National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation including attack executed against mass transportation on our soil; cyberattacks against critical port infrastructure; and mass casualty events involving both vehicles and active shooters. 

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. All states and territories are eligible to apply for EMPG program funds. Either the State Administrative Agency (SAA) or the State’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is eligible to apply directly to FEMA for EMPG funds on behalf of each state or territory. However, only one application is accepted from each state or territory.

  • Purpose

    As part of the Assistance for Firefighters Grant Program, the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER) was created to provide funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to help them increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities. 

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. Volunteer, combination, and career fire departments operating in any of the states and territories, or any federally recognized Indian tribe or tribal organization are eligible to apply for funding.

  • Purpose

  • Purpose

    The Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grants are part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) and support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The primary goal is to reduce injury and prevent death among high-risk populations.

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. Eligible applicants for the FP&S Activity include fire departments and national, regional, state, local, tribal, and nonprofit organizations that are recognized for their experience and expertise in fire prevention and safety programs and activities. Both private and public non-profit organizations are eligible to apply for funding in this activity.

  • Purpose

    The Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal of a secure and resilient nation. The HSGP is comprised of three grant programs:

    • State Homeland Security Program (SHSP)
    • Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI)
    • Operation Stonegarden (OPSG)

    Together, these grant programs fund a range of preparedness activities, including planning, organization, equipment purchase, training, exercises, and management and administration across all core capabilities and mission areas.

    US Based Grant Program. The State Administrative Agency (SAA) is the only entity eligible to submit HSGP applications to DHS/FEMA.   • Purpose

    The OPSG program supports enhanced cooperation and coordination among Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Border Patrol (USBP), and local, tribal, territorial, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies.  The OPSG Program funds investments in joint efforts to secure the United States’ borders along routes of ingress from international borders to include travel corridors in states bordering Mexico and Canada, as well as states and territories with International water borders.

  • Purpose

    The UASI program funds addressed the unique risk driven and capabilities-based planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise needs of high-threat, high-density Urban Areas based on the capability targets identified during the THIRA process and associated assessment efforts; and assists them in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism.

    US Based Grant Program. The State Administrative Agency (SAA) is the only entity eligible to submit applications to DHS/FEMA. In FY 2020, 32 urban areas were designated eligible for funding. Contact your SAA to determine if your location may be eligible.

  • Purpose

    The Port Security Grant Program plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal (the Goal) of a secure and resilient Nation. The objective is to provide funding to port authorities, facility operators, and State and local agencies for activities associated with implementing Area Maritime Security Plans (AMSPs), facility security plans, and other port-wide risk management efforts. 

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. All entities subject to an Area Maritime Security Plan, as defined by 46 U.S.C. § 70103(b), may apply for PSGP funding.   • Purpose

    The Transit Security Grant Program plays an important role in the implementation of the National Preparedness System (NPS) by supporting the building, sustainment, and delivery of core capabilities essential to achieving the National Preparedness Goal (the Goal) of a secure and resilient Nation. Applicable funding Priority Area: Addressing emerging threats, such as transnational criminal organizations, WMD and UAS.

  • Purpose

    The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is a component of the US Department of Justice. COPS Grants including the Anti-methamphetamine Program (CAMP) and Anti-Heroin Task Force (AHTF) are two of its administered grants applicable for procurement of Rigaku handheld devices.

  • Purpose

    The COPS Anti-Methamphetamine Program (CAMP) is a competitive grant solicitation, open to state law enforcement agencies with multijurisdictional reach and interdisciplinary team (e.g. task force) structures, in states with high seizures of precursor chemicals, finished methamphetamine, laboratories, and laboratory dump seizures.

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. Only state law enforcement agencies authorized by law or by a state agency to engage in or to supervise anti-methamphetamine investigative activities are eligible to apply for funding.

  • Purpose

    The COPS Office Anti-Heroin Task Force (AHTF) program is a competitive award program designed to advance public safety by providing provide funds directly to state law enforcement to locate and investigate illicit activities through statewide collaboration related to the distribution of heroin, fentanyl, or carfentanil or the unlawful distribution of prescription opioids.

    Eligibility

    US Based Grant Program. AHTF is open only to state law enforcement agencies with primary law enforcement authority over heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil, and other opioids seizures and investigations.

  • Purpose

    The Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grants Program (the Coverdell program) awards grants to states and units of local government to help improve the quality and timeliness of forensic science and medical examiner/coroner services. Among other things, funds may be used to eliminate a backlog in the analysis of forensic evidence and to train and employ forensic laboratory personnel, as needed, to eliminate such a backlog. Under this program, two grants are administered a formula grant and a competitive grant.

    Purpose
    The Law Enforcement Assistance Grant Program (LEAGP) was created by the Colorado legislature to allow law enforcement agencies to apply for grants up to the amount of money that the agency can establish it would have received except for Section 16-13-306.5 or 16-13-504.5 C.R.S. which limited receipt of forfeiture payments from federal agencies after August 9, 2017.
    Eligibility
    Seizing law enforcement agencies, as defined in Section 16-13-301 (2.7), eligible for reimbursement for money that the agency would have received except for section 16-13-306.5 or 16-13-504.5 C.R.S.  One application per law enforcement agency per funding year will be permitted with the exception of law enforcement agencies serving as the fiscal agent for Multi-Jurisdictional Task Forces (MJTF) seeking reimbursement as individual agencies and then also as a fiscal agent of a MJTF.

  • Purpose
    The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) Program began with the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, passed by Congress to strengthen and improve the operation of law enforcement functions in states and is designed to support all components of the criminal justice system. The JAG program provides states and units of local governments with critical funding necessary to support a broad range of initiatives
    Eligibility
    The majority of Montana’s JAG funds have funded local multi-jurisdictional drug task forces statewide, within the law enforcement program area. Limited JAG funding has also been awarded to other program focus areas within an approved strategic plan.

    The Tribal Homeland Security Grant Program (THSGP) focuses on enhancing the ability of state, local, tribal and territorial governments, as well as nonprofits, to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks.

  • Purpose

    The Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation enables Tribes, Alaska Native villages, and Tribal consortia to submit a single application for eight of the Department of Justice’s competitive grant programs. These grants provide resources to expand the implementation of community policing and meets the most serious needs of law enforcment in Tribal Nations. It allows for the procurement of equipment and training to assist in the initiation or enhancement of Tribal community policing efforts.

    The Integrated Border Management Fund is made of two components: the Border Management and Visa Instrument (BMVI), and the Customs Control Equipment Instrument (CCEI).

    The Border Management and Visa Instrument will ensure strong and effective European integrated border management at the external borders and support the common visa policy, thereby

    The new Customs Control Equipment Instrument will help to equip Member States with state-of-the-art customs control equipment with a view to contributing to adequate and equivalent results of customs controls.

    Eligibility

    The CCEI specifically provides financial support to the customs authorities of European Union Member States for the transparent purchase, maintenance and upgrade of customs control equipment. This includes innovative detection technology equipment for border crossing points, inland customs offices and mobile customs units.
