LOW ALLOY STEELS

Low alloy steels (LAS) are primarily used for applications that require better mechanical properties than can be obtained with carbon steels. LAS are typically used in military vehicles, construction material, and in shipbuilding. Alloying elements are normally less than 10% and are defined by the following elements: 
  • Cr=1% max
  • Ni=1% max
  • Mo=1% max
